Swearing-in Ceremony

The Texas State Board of Public Accountancy is making plans for the next swearing-in ceremony that will be held in Arlington on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 10:00 am at the Texas Hall, University of Texas at Arlington in Arlington, Texas.
Invitations to the ceremony have been mailed to CPAs who have just been certified.

The Texas State Board of Public Accountancy is working with CPAs affected by Hurricane Ike. Review information that will be helpful as you return to work.

CPA Examination Eligibility Fee

The fee for online submission of the Eligibility Application is now $15 for each section. Use Online Services to apply online and make payment by American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and VISA. After submitting your application, continue to monitor your testing activities daily, and review your scores, credits, and Diagnostic Report online.

Individual Renewal Information

License renewals that are due December 31, 2008 can now be completed online. Use Online Services to review your license status. Select the online Annual License Renewal to begin completing your renewal online. You can begin submitting information for your renewal six weeks prior to the submission deadline. In particular, courses taken to satisfy CPE requirements can be entered and updated over a six weeks period of time. Submit your renewal with fee payment prior to the deadline. Credit Cards accepted: American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa.
Note that if you have not submitted your renewal prior to the deadline, you can still complete your renewal online.

University Pass Rates on the CPA Exam

Comparepassing rates by testing window on the Uniform CPA Examination for universities in Texas.

Firm Renewal Information

Firm license renewal notices are being mailed to firms based on the renewal month assigned to the firm.  Note the expiration date of your firm’s license.  Your firm will receive a renewal notice approximately 60 days prior to the expiration date.  Additional information is available.

Out-of-State Practice Privilege

Legislation effective September 1, 2007, creates apractice privilege for certain out-of-state license holders.

Reinstatement of an Individual License

Legislation effective September 1, 2007, defines rules forreinstatement of a license for certain individuals who have moved to another state.

Professional Fee Exemption

H. B. 1316, enacted by the 80th Legislature, sets requirements forexemption from payment of the $200 professional fee for certain government employees.
